Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clearly define the vision, priorities, and operation of our organization 
  • Define organizational goals and the key strategies that will be implemented to achieve them 
  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans for the organization’s educational initiatives
  • Develop key outcomes and metrics to measure progress
  • Engage the board, staff, and partners in organization strategy and goals
  • Develop and execute our strategy to secure annual giving from foundations to support specific organizational needs
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with the goal of enhancing the organization’s reputation and reach
  • Build and nurture relationships with key donors and foundations, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure all education projects are executed within budget, timeline, and quality standards
  • Launch new revenue generation strategies
  • Develop and execute a strategy to leverage relationships, partnerships, and influence at the federal and state levels
  • Increase brand awareness and name recognition nationally through various channels, including social media, op-eds, and public speaking
  • Recruit new board members who can meaningfully contribute to our strategic priorities
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement 
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in education management 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in technology or education 
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role
  • Proven experience casting a compelling strategic vision and elevating an organization’s visibility
  • Experience securing funding from institutional donors, government sources, and individuals
  • Experience in organizational and financial management
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Experience building a revenue-generating business line
  • Experience building authentic relationships with community partners, policymakers, funders, and other supporters
  • Deep knowledge of the education sector and edtech industry
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, student recruitment, and partnership development in the education landscape
  • Demonstrated business and entrepreneurial acumen
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to anticipate future trends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education or business administration
