Big Data Jobs

We are seeking an experienced Big Data Architect to join our data science and engineering team. This role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing our company’s conceptual and logical data systems. Additional duties may include preparing reports, monitoring the system, supervising system migrations, and integrating data solutions with the architecture used across the company.  

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Select and integrate any big data tools and frameworks required to provide the requested capabilities
  • Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information
  • Install and configure information systems and features to ensure functionality
  • Implement ETL process
  • Monitor system performance and advise of any necessary infrastructure changes
  • Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications
  • Supervise the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Prepare database design and architecture reports
  • Coordinate with the data science department to identify future needs and requirements
  • Define data retention policies and security and backup procedures
  • Test and troubleshoot new features

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in big data or analytics
  • Experience as a data architect, data scientist, data analyst, or similar role
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, D3.js, or R
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Hadoop
  • Experience designing, building, and operating cloud services
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources
  • Expertise in SQL and Oracle
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of database structure principles
  • Knowledge of enterprise BI and analytics
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
