We are seeking a Data Analyst to provide educational analytics support. This role will enhance the data analytics capabilities across our organization, facilitating innovations in teaching, learning assessment, and education research. Their ultimate goal will be to support our larger objectives of delivering an improved student experience, working with data to meet our strategic goals. The successful candidate will be a problem solver with experience extracting and modeling data from large datasets, who is a good communicator with a passion for learning analytics within education.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigate, interpret, validate, and clean data from digital learning platforms
  • Support the integration of administrative datasets for use in learning analytics
  • Analyze and prepare reports from local, state, and national assessment data
  • Develop and maintain data files to monitor and track performance 
  • Develop data analyses and visualizations for reporting, educational, evaluation, and research purposes
  • Interpret and review assessment data with administrators and teachers
  • Compile data from multiple assessments to develop student, subject, grade-level, or school achievement profiles 
  • Ensure the validity of all data presented to staff
  • Record and prioritize data-related issues and requirements
  • Attend and lead training sessions and site meetings related to data analysis
  • Serve as a client advocate and subject matter expert for all matters related to data analysis

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, mathematics, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing data in a medium to large organization 
  • Experience in data warehousing, data repositories, software engineering, and business intelligence
  • Experience using academic data to impact instruction and school systems thinking and planning
  • Experience identifying and undertaking data analysis within a complex technological environment
  • Experience explaining testing and statistics to administrators, teachers, and parents
  • Experience with tools and programming languages such as PowerBI, PySpark, Python, SQL, R, and XML
  • Experience writing and presenting reports
  • Knowledge of a broad range of ICT technologies and principles, including data security, entity relationship modeling, dimensional modeling, and data flow mapping
  • Knowledge of data processing software
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws governing education 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong project management and time management skills
