We are looking for a talented, passionate Data Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust data pipelines and architectures. They will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring the availability, integrity, and performance of our data systems. They will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to support advanced analytics initiatives and contribute to our overall data strategy. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models, schemas, and structures in SQL Server, Snowflake, and other technologies
  • Implement and maintain enterprise data warehouse methodologies to ensure data quality and consistency 
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL Server, Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and other relevant technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver those solutions
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and databases to ensure data availability and resolve any issues or bottlenecks
  • Enforce data governance policies to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company standards
  • Enhance data visibility and observability across the organization by implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the data team 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data warehousing and ETL processes
  • Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, and Snowflake, including designing and implementing data models, writing SQL queries, and optimizing performance
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
  • Experience deploying and managing data on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with data visualization tools and BI platforms
  • Proficiency in ETL tools such as ADF, SSIS, and Kafka Messaging
  • Knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Java
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance regulations
  • Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration 
  • Knowledge of machine learning and advanced analytics techniques 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in relevant technologies, such as Snowflake or Microsoft Azure
