This role will lead the development and implementation of our products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. They will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, and other key stakeholders to ensure that our solutions are delivered on time and within budget. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all operations and aspects of the engineering department
  • Organize and supervise the hiring, training, and scheduling of team members
  • Evaluate the performance of engineering team members
  • Implement engineering processes and methodologies to ensure that our products are developed efficiently and effectively 
  • Collaborate with product management and key stakeholders to develop and prioritize product roadmaps, client commitments, and feature sets
  • Drive the development and deployment of new features and functionalities
  • Oversee the engineering department’s financing, expenses, and budgeting
  • Set objectives, requirements, and timeframes for engineering projects
  • Build and foster business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and coordinate engineering products and strategies 
  • Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings, working closely with other departments to ensure that our products align with company objectives
  • Research and implement innovative technologies to improve the department’s success
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to engineering team members

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering environment 
  • Experience managing engineering teams
  • Experience with transforming legacy applications into modern software applications
  • Experience in Oracle database systems and architecture
  • Experience in Azure or Amazon Web Services and on-premises data centers
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
  • Experience with front-end and back-end development
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering practices and processes
  • Knowledge of applying modern engineering practices to .NET software platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong project management skills
