We are looking for a Design Strategist to join our team. This role will play a crucial role in defining our design strategy and ensuring that our design efforts align with our business objectives. They will work with a team of other designers, writers, and strategists to tackle complex challenges related to customer experience, brand definition, and product design. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design strategies that align with our business goals and user needs
  • Conduct user research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform design decisions
  • Work with cross functional teams to define design requirements and success metrics
  • Facilitate design thinking workshops and brainstorming sessions
  • Create and maintain design systems, style guides, and brand standards
  • Identify opportunities within projects for additional services or features
  • Advocate for a strategic point of view with senior team members and clients
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and share those insights with the team

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in design strategy, user experience design, and/or visual design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic design thinking
  • Experience in user research, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis
  • Experience with usability testing and data-driven design
  • Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience creating wireframes and prototypes
  • Knowledge of design thinking methodologies and their application for solving complex problems
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and best practices for web and mobile
  • Knowledge of responsive design and accessibility best practices
  • Knowledge of branding, visual design, and design systems
  • Familiarity with project management frameworks such as Scrum or Agile
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in design thinking or user experience design
  • Experience with prototyping tools like InVision or Axure
