Our company is looking for a Business Analyst to serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and software development teams. This role will work with people across the organization to gather and analyze business requirements, develop solutions, and champion initiatives that improve the quality of our software products. Our ideal candidate will be adept at making strategic decisions and have a knack for identifying technically viable solutions to novel problems. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and processes
  • Document and analyze business processes to determine the technical and architectural requirements
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for technical teams
  • Develop innovative and practical solutions for operational and strategic challenges
  • Streamline processes, optimize workflows, and enhance the user experience
  • Assist with planning the direction of future development and envisioning future needs
  • Analyze project metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop financial models to aid the business decision-making process
  • Establish product benchmarks and KPIs
  • Assist with the development of the customer acquisition strategy and product value proposition 
  • Oversee the software development process to ensure alignment with required outcomes
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and technology teams
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of implemented solutions

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis or project management
  • Experience in business optimization, preferably in the software industry
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements
  • Experience working with data warehouses and data governance
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of relevant tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Visio
  • Knowledge of version control tools and proper branching techniques
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Certification in business analysis
