Our company is seeking a Content Marketing Director to lead our strategic content planning and execution. This role will build, manage, and coach a team of content creators tasked with developing engaging content across various channels. Toward this end, they will work closely with different teams to create compelling content and build our audience. Our ideal candidate will be a passionate storyteller with expertise in understanding customer motivations and an established track record of success in content strategy and team leadership.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create a content strategy framework and content roadmap
  • Develop our brand positioning, messaging, segmentation, and voice
  • Lead a team of content creators and marketing professionals
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, account management, and demand generation teams to develop successful marketing campaigns
  • Research our customers and prospects to understand their motivations and pain points
  • Oversee the generation of content across multiple social channels
  • Develop and execute multi-faceted content marketing campaigns to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention
  • Gather and use data to inform content creation decisions and content marketing strategy
  • Manage website content and ensure SEO best practices are being applied and followed
  • Engage with social media influencers for collaboration opportunities
  • Serve as the in-house editor for all external content
  • Analyze the impact of each campaign to ensure they align with overall business objectives

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, or a related field 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in content marketing
  • Experience in a variety of content formats, including written content, video, and podcasting
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Salesforce, and HubSpot
  • Experience leading and managing a team of content creators
  • Experience developing and executing content campaigns and strategy
  • Experience with campaign and workflow management
  • Thorough knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Knowledge of content distribution and measurement
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
