We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our team and support our transformation into a data-driven organization. This role will deliver strategic insights to leadership and collaborate with operations and compliance to identify their data needs and utilize the analysis results to streamline and automate our workflows. They will support delivery of both client-facing and internal projects in areas such as payments, lending and crowdfunding, blockchain, artificial intelligence, digital wealth management, and others. This role will involve both working with quantitative data and conducting field research. Our ideal candidate will be an astute, articulate individual with the ability to accurately handle and rigorously examine data from a variety of sources.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build databases, design dashboards, and define metrics to support scale and analyze risks
  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources
  • Develop and implement protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
  • Build scripts to make the data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets
  • Provide easily understood reports for operational teams and senior management
  • Collaborate with data, operations, and compliance teams to understand data requirements and provide relevant insights
  • Write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases
  • Design scalable reporting frameworks 
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, computer science, economics, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a role working with data
  • Experience interpreting large data sets
  • Experience using data to solve complex, ambiguous problems
  • Experience using Python, R, and Airflow
  • Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques
  • Experience with frameworks, including XML, JavaScript, and ETL
  • Expertise in SQL and data analysis/visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services or market research
