We are in search of a Director of Marketing to plan and execute the marketing and communications strategy for our organization. They will be responsible for overseeing advertising, publications, graphic design, and digital marketing activities, ensuring they are conducted in support of our organization’s mission. Success in this role requires a highly resourceful individual with high emotional intelligence and self-motivation who is experienced in project management and leadership. 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long term marketing strategies to promote our mission and brand
  • Direct the planning, development, production, and evaluation of promotional campaigns
  • Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of our website 
  • Provide leadership in the planning, development, and direction of communication strategies and long-range public relations programs
  • Determine needs for new policies and procedures and develop guidelines and procedures governing the release of information by our organization
  • Manage all applicable communications schedules, including press releases, website and digital content, publications, video, and social media
  • Use data analytics to inform decision making and maximize the ROI for all marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop content for use across a variety of marketing platforms
  • Establish productive working relationships with media, educators, and the community at large
  • Produce and publish training literature, material, and workshops for effective execution of marketing and communications plans

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, ideally within the education or technology sectors
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role related to marketing or communications
  • Experience working in higher education and/or corporate public relations, communication, or marketing
  • Experience with marketing photography and videography
  • Experience with brand development 
  • Experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Experience identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate
  • Experience optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B testing and multivariate experiments
  • Experience setting up and optimizing PPC campaigns on all major search engines
  • Knowledge of graphic, web, and social media applications and tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress
  • Knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics, NetInsight, SEMRush, or WebTrends
  • Knowledge of ad serving tools
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Knowledge of budget development and financial planning and strategy
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
